Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). At the age of five and moved to Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided she wanted to be an actor. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she was taught acting and singing. As early as age ten the actress took part in and played the leading role in a number of Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after auditions of 8. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film on the screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It was the year's top production, and it broke records during the opening day and first weekend. The film received praise from critics, as were the performance of three starlets. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma's performance was nominated and later won awards in the film.
